    Introduction
    This book is about the business environment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), a region that is essentially viewed as vitally significant to economic and foreign policy interests. The winds of change sweeping across the region are shaping the global business environment and has given rise to renewed interest in this strategic, yet volatile region. This rapidly changing environment raises a multitude of concerns and anxieties for businesses as well as new opportunities. In addition, there has been a growing need for comprehensive perspectives and course offerings on MENA. This book seeks to meet this need by focusing on the business environment of the MENA region, particularly national and corporate cultures, marketing, legal environment of business, political economy, oil and security of supply, international trade regulatory environment, e-commerce, regional economic integration, Islamic finance, Islamic economics, and other salient international business issues of significance to international firms.
     
    Objective of the Book
    The book aims to become a reference source for academics, businesses, policymakers, and other institutions interested in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. Target Audience This book will be of interest to various parties such as academic departments offering international business, international economics, international political economy, international finance, international management, and global ethics courses. In addition, this book will also serve scholars and researchers, businesses, policymakers, and the general public, who might be interested in learning about this vibrant region.

    Submission Procedure
    You are invited to submit no later than December 30, a 1000 word chapter proposal outlining your chapter and the broad scope of your proposed chapter content. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified within 30 working days on the status of their proposals. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by May 31, 2014.
    Please include brief biographies for each of the chapter authors, including current institutional affiliation and position, a listing of your related publications, and contact information.
    This book is anticipated to be released in 2015.

    May 31, 2014: Full Chapter Submission
    July 31, 2014: Review Results Returned
    September 30, 2014: Final Chapter Submission
