Miguel, in response to your question: no, this RQ is not publicly available.  You are free to share the pdf with colleagues:  we ask that if they decide to distribute copies of the article in their classes, that FIRST they make a formal permissions request to SHRM by writing to Margaret Clark (Margaret.clark@shrm.org).

    Hello, Migual, Hello, Nancy,

Many thanks for sharing a very interesting research with us on new form of organising!  The finding is very relevant when travel budget is cut and global supply chain and value chain continue to expand.

I took note that training in terms of leadership, cultural sensitivity, technology and other learning opportunities constituted 4 out of eight identified interventions in this survey in supporting of transition to a virtual organisation (see Figure 2).  I thought it would be relevant to share a recent survey that we conducted in Europe concerning training management regarding aligning training to business needs and assessing impact. Our findings suggest that in most cases/companies such alignment were weak and little action taken to assess training impact (Kirkpatrick Level 4)(see attached).  These findings are in line with the findings of the ASTD's State of the Industry.

What would be your advice in ensuring results based training management?  How to encourage the training managers to go beyond the minimum required feedback of "happy sheets" and actually create a feedback loop to check the behaviour adaptation and transfer back in the workplace?  In the case of transiting to a virtual organisation, how to ensure the training interventions actually support and fill the organisation's need to operative effectively in a virtual manner?

Looking forward to hearing from you with

my best wishes for a happy Easter,
