Northeastern University's College of Business Administration was founded in 1922. Five years ago it was renamed the D'Amore-McKim School of Business in recognition of generous benefactors Rich D'Amore and Alan McKim, who combined forces to make a $60 million investment in the school's future. Since then, the school has undergone an extraordinary transformation, including a 25% increase in full-time faculty and a 34% increase in top-tier journal publications. From being the most highly published school in the Journal of International Business Studies to being ranked 7th on U.S. News and World Report's new Most Innovative Schools list, Northeastern continues to develop cutting-edge research and learning opportunities that address real business challenges. The next Dean of the D'Amore-McKim School will be supported by newly endowed Dunton Family Deanship, the first ever endowed Deanship at Northeastern University.
D'Amore-McKim offers a unique model of business education that purposefully blends innovative classroom learning with real-world business application. Its students explore cutting-edge theory with professors, fusing knowledge with learning experiences that include cooperative education or corporate residency (six-month full time paid work assignments), study abroad, and community service. The school's resulting connections with the corporate world influence its research agendas, which, in turn, shape innovative new business practice. This synergy enables D'Amore-McKim students to become successful business leaders who are both thinkers and doers, and thus highly qualified to think critically and leave their mark on the global business world.
Reporting directly to the Provost, the Dean of the D'Amore-McKim School of Business provides academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership to the College. The next Dean will draw upon a deep understanding of business education, leadership and management to engage and work with key stakeholders in an ongoing effort to enhance an already thriving school and further enhance its status as a national leader. The next Dean will also possess unquestioned integrity and exemplary interpersonal and communication skills. The University seeks a proven leader with an ability to inspire and work in a team context to leverage the School's strengths. A more detailed description of applicant requirements can be found on the School's website (http://www.damore-mckim.northeastern.edu/news/2016/11/22/15/40/dean-search-underway).
