The Business Program of the University of Washington Bothell invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in International Business
at the Assistant Professor level. The appointment will become effective in
September of 2011. A Ph.D. degree in any area of business dealing with
International Business is required. Candidates who are near degree completion
will be considered. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching,
research, and service.
A candidate for this position should have an active research program with
publications, or the potential for publication in leading academic journals in
business. The individual who is hired will teach undergraduate and MBA-level
courses at the Bothell campus and the newly established Eastside Leadership
Center in Bellevue. The program places a high value on excellence in the
classroom. Faculty members have complete access to the computing and library
resources of a major research university, including financial databases such as
Compustat, CRSP, and IBES via WRDS. UW Bothell follows a quarter system and the
normal teaching workload for business faculty is five courses a year.
Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse students,
faculty, staff, and business leaders.
The University of Washington Bothell was established in 1990 as a campus within
the University of Washington system. We are located 15 miles northeast of
downtown Seattle in the center of the Pacific Northwest's exciting
high-technology corridor between Microsoft and Boeing. We work closely with
industry leaders as well as the smaller, innovative, and rapidly growing
companies in software, electronic commerce, medical equipment, biotechnology,
electronics, and aerospace. We have a relatively new, state of the art,
high-tech campus, with a wireless network serving every building on campus,
digital multimedia labs, and multimedia capabilities in all of the classrooms.
Our MBA programs draw from companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Expedia, Icos,
Amgen, and Philips. The Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue, WA, currently
serves our Leadership MBA program, a new Undergraduate program with an emphasis
on International Business, and a forthcoming China program.
