Apologies for cross-postings. Please consider the following if you are a new and/or international attendee at this year's AOM meeting!
Fostering an Inclusive Environment: Empowering Individuals to Build Meaningful Relationships (Program Session #109)
Do you feel lost at the annual Academy meetings? Excluded? Not sure where to begin? A new member? Initiating conversation, creating small talk, and building relationships at the AOM meeting are not easy tasks for anyone, and can be more challenging for individuals who feel overwhelmed and excluded. However, good conversational skills and sound relationship building techniques are critically important to career and personal growth for both academics and practitioners. Where do you start?! At this PDW!! Learn small talk and conversation techniques that help "break the ice," "speed date" with attendees, and speak to panelists who have "been there" to help you develop your own set of networking tools that feels right for you. Engage in meaningful discussions and learn new skills with colleagues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
