    Dear colleagues,

    Please forgive our cross postings.

Web Site for Assessing Cultural Intelligence

    August 2009

Cultural intelligence refers to an individual's capability to function effectively across cultures – this can include national, ethnic, organizational as well as other types of culture (Ang & Van Dyne, 2008; Earley & Ang, 2003).

In response to an increasing number of requests for CQ assessment tools, we have created a special website that will allow you to assess your own Cultural Intelligence and obtain an on-line personal feedback report.  This special web site will be available for the next 60 days as a follow-up to the Academy of Management meetings.

Web site for assessing your own CQ (open to the public for 60 days following AOM)

          www.aom2009.cq-portal.com

In addition, we have other web sites that are available for additional purposes.

Web site for students to complete CQ assessment as a course assignment (FREE)

Web site for to use when conducting workshops for clients

I just completed the CQ assessment. I've worked successfully as an expatriate in Latin America, China, Switzerland-F, Germany, and New Zealand, and worked as a visiting professor in India and Turkey. This instrument appears to be a measure of academics' beliefs as to politically correct cross-cultural attitudes rather than a useful measure of cross-cultural interaction competence. I'd never use it as an evaluation tool.
