The Entrepreneurship Division has historically improved the lives of its members through providing career-stage PDWs such as the Doctoral Consortium, the Junior Faculty Consortium, and the Mid- Career Consortium. This year we're continuing the Late Career Workshop started in Atlanta in 2017. Our session focuses on faculty who are "PhD+20 years" and older. This year's effort will be structured along the lines of a room-full of breakout sessions, with each table set with one presenter, who can introduce a topic and engage in Q&A with fellow participants. These sessions are scheduled to last 20 minutes, so that participants can get a broad range of thoughts during the event. Our aim is to bring together Division members from a broad range of perspectives and institutions to share insights with late career faculty on the following nine topics [and their presenters]: (1) Getting Back on Track: You didn't think it would be so easy to stop writing, did you? [Ralph Hanke], (2) The Boomers Retire from Academe [Barbara Bird], (3) Aging Faculty in the Digital World [Zoltan Acs], (4) Writing for books and the web [Jerome Katz], (5) The Last Great Work? Musings on Ways to Climb Everest [William Gartner], (6) What's a CASS and Why Senior Scholars Should Care [Bob Ford], (7) An Entrepreneurial Approach to Designing your Later Stage Career [Candida Brush], (8) Making an Impact Through Community Engagement [Kimberly Eddleston and Roland Kidwell], (9) Changing Tracks: Moving to Administrative Work in Your Career and Beyond [Scott Safranski]. Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online is August 9, 2018.

We hope to see you there!

The Entrepreneurship Division is sponsoring a Late Career Consortium for faculty 20 years past their doctorate (and older). Like the other career- oriented consortia, this one gives participants a chance to hear and explore topics related to late career teaching, research, other aspects of work, and life in general.  There will be 9 tables whose topics are:

    1. Getting Back on Track: You didn't think it would be so easy to stop writing, did you? Ralph Hanke (Western State Colorado University)
    2. The Boomers Retire from Academe, Barbara Bird (Emeritus, American University)
    3. Aging Faculty in the Digital World, Zoltan Acs (George Mason University)
    4. Writing for books and the web, Jerome Katz (Saint Louis University)
    5. The Last Great Work? Musings on Ways to Climb Everest, William Gartner (Babson College)
    6. What's a CASS and Why Senior Scholars Should Care, Bob Ford (University of Central Florida)
    7. An Entrepreneurial Approach to Designing your Later Stage Career, Candida Brush(Babson College)
    8. Making an Impact Through Community Engagement, Kimberly Eddleston (Northeastern University) & Roland Kidwell (Florida Atlantic University)
    9. Changing Tracks: Moving to Administrative Work in Your Career and Beyond, Scott R. Safranski (Emeritus, Saint Louis University)

There will be four 20-minute sessions during the consortium, so participants will have a chance to change tables and explore multiple topics.

We'd love to have you join us. The PDW is free, but pre-registration is required. Get more details at my.aom.org/program2018/SessionDetails.aspx?sid=10836
