All-
We would like to cordially invite you to our PDW session on the R&R process. We are excited to kick off the PDW sessions from 8am – 10am on Friday morning in the Dolphin Resort room Oceanic 6. We have a great group of distinguished speakers who will be leading the discussion, and also look forward to hearing all participants' thoughts during the roundtable discussion segment.
Our goal of this PDW is to identify some commonalities to the R&R process across the management disciplines, in the interest of making the process more efficient and effective for authors, reviewers, and journal editors.
The full listing is presented here:
Chair: Gretchen Vogelgesang; San Jose State U.; Moderator: Rachel Clapp-Smith; Purdue U., Calumet; Distinguished Speaker: Richard A Bettis; U. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Distinguished Speaker: William L. Gardner; Texas Tech U.; Distinguished Speaker: Sucheta Nadkarni; Drexel U.; Distinguished Speaker: Mitrabarun Sarkar; Temple U.; Distinguished Speaker: Gabriel Szulanski; INSEAD; This Professional Development Workshop is intended for both authors who have successfully passed the first round of peer review for article publication and reviewers for the top journals across management disciplines. Five panelists represent the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Management, the Strategic Management Journal, The Leadership Quarterly, and the Journal for International Business Studies, among other journals. Each panelist will discuss the requirements for a successful revise and resubmit, which he or she has learned in a career as author, reviewer, and editor. Roundtable discussions, ordered by topical area and research interest, will highlight thoughts regarding the analysis of the first round of peer reviews, any indicators authors should regard as positive or negative signals (red flags), and recommendations for how authors should respond to reviews in order to obtain a conditional acceptance. These discussions will detail necessary action steps recommended for each of the journals, including requirements for reviewers for these journals. The session will conclude with a debriefing, where each roundtable group will share their solutions and best practices for both authors and reviewers. The goal of this PDW is to help make the R&R process more efficient and more effective for authors, reviewers, and editors.
Please join us for what we expect will be an interesting and enlightening discussion - We hope to see you in Orlando!
Please note, there is no advanced registration required for this PDW.
Cheers,
Gretchen
