    17th Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference

    "Western Hemisphere meets Eastern Hemisphere:

    Trade, Investment and Development Opportunities"

    April 10-12, 2013

    Laredo, Texas, USA

     

                You are cordially invited to submit papers for presentation at this conference, which brings together academic researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss an array of topics affecting the Western Hemisphere in today's global business world. This year's conference will focus on how both Eastern and Western Hemispheric countries seek to promote sustainable development, and the opportunities and challenges they face in doing so. 

                The conference is sponsored by Texas A&M International University, the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, and the Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade, in partnership with Universidad Regiomontana's Escuela de Negocios and Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas's Facultad de Comercio, Administración y Ciencias Sociales (Mexico); University of International Business and Economics and Wuhan University (China); and with support from Americas Society-Council of the Americas (Washington, D.C.). The 2013 conference will take place on the campus of Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas, USA.

    · February 22, 2013 - Notification date for acceptance of submission

    · March 8, 2013 - Due date for complete papers to be considered for inclusion in the electronic proceedings

    · April 3, 2013 - End of regular registration

    · April 4, 2013 - Late registration begins

     

    Submission Guidelines:

    · Papers are invited on any topic related to the general theme of "Western Hemisphere meets Eastern Hemisphere: Trade, Investment and Development Opportunities." All submissions must be made electronically to cswht@tamiu.edu

    · Graduate students and non-academic affiliates are welcome. Submissions imply that at least one author will register for the conference and be present at the time designated in the conference program. Research-in-progress will be accepted.

    · Please send a MS Word file of either the complete paper or abstract (200 words maximum) by February 8, 2013 for inclusion in the conference. Complete papers will be considered for inclusion in the electronic proceedings. Each submission must include a cover page containing only the title of the research with information about the author(s).

    ·  $200 U.S. Dollars - Early Registration: January 1 - March 6, 2013

    ·  $250 U.S. Dollars - Regular Registration: March 7 - April 2, 2013

    ·  $300 U.S. Dollars - Late Registration: On or after April 3, 2013
