The Management & Organizational Behavior Teaching Society is excited to once again be able to offer the opportunity for doctoral students and junior faculty members (in years 1-5 in academia) to apply for full scholarships to MOBTS 2018 at Coastal Carolina University.
These scholarships include registration to our preconference workshops, general registration, room and board, and more.
Doctoral Institute (DI)
The DI is a workshop that focuses on teaching philosophies, negotiating an academic job, effective teaching and learning, and a variety of other topics critical to building the solid foundation you need as you head into seeking and succeeding in your first post-doctoral position.
The DI begins at 3pm on Tuesday, June 5th and concludes at 5pm on Wednesday, June 6th (at which time the general conference begins).
A Doctoral Institute Scholarship includes the following:
- Preconference workshop registration
- General conference registration
- $200 travel stipend
- On-campus room and board
- Tuesday evening reception with the Board of Directors
- Tuesday night off-site dinner
- Collaborative Saturday morning presentation which will be listed in the conference proceedings
- A one-year membership to MOBTS.org
- A one-year subscription to the Journal of Management Education and Management Teaching Review
- The total value of this competitive scholarship is over $1,000.
Early Educator Institute (EEI)
EEI scholarships are available to junior faculty members currently in their first through fifth years of teaching. The goals of the EEI include:
- Providing opportunities to increase self-awareness around teaching preferences, learning styles, and how to frame a teaching experience for students
- Exploring a wide variety of approaches to pedagogy, demystify some of the approaches to pedagogy, and recognize that not every pedagogical approach works for everyone
- Start to develop your pedagogical identity by asking you to consider: What do you want your students to learn? Who are your learners? What learning experience should you provide that meets their needs?
- And much more!
- The EEI begins at 3pm on Tuesday, June 5th and concludes at 5pm on Wednesday, June 6th (at which time the general conference begins).
An Early Educator Institute Scholarship includes the following:
