**Apologies for cross postings**
At AOM this year, the HR Division has prepared a very exciting Plenary Session to tie in with its award-winning work with the Division's Ambassadors from across the globe. This is to tie in with the launch of the second edition of the Ambassador's 'Global Human Resource Management Casebook' that will published later this year.
How HR Challenges are Met in Diverse Cultural, Institutional, and Organizational Contexts
Program Session: 1696 | Submission: 18593
Scheduled: Tuesday, Aug 9 2016 9:45AM - 11:15AM at Anaheim Convention Center in 201D
This plenary is expected to encourage debate among our HR Ambassadors regarding how cultural, institutional, and organizational contexts influence the way in which HR challenges are met. Panelists will discuss how similar HR challenges -- such as talent development (the local employees of McDonald's in Austria, local vs. expatriate employees of a bank in the UAE, Bosch in Germany in times of crisis) -- have been resolved, and about how other HR activities such as managing diversity (in a petrochemicals company in Finland), managing creativity (at an industrial design company in Ireland), managing the transfer of Danish HR practices (to Mexico), or selecting managers (for a food manufacturer in Thailand with the use of a face reader) have been carried out in practice. This international research is also intended for use in teaching activities in the classroom.
We hope the session will bring together a wide range of HR Division members as well as others with similar interests, such as those in the IM Division.
We look forward to seeing you there!
