    ***** Apologies for cross-posting *****

Department of International Economics, Government and Business (EGB) has posted a position at AIB Job Placement Services for the AIB Manchester Job market

    https://www.aib.world/position/copenhagen-business-school-cbs/

EGB invites expressions of interest for a tenure-track assistant professor position in International Business. You should hold, or be close to completing, a PhD. You should be able to demonstrate strong research potential in the areas of International Business. In addition, you should have excellent methodological skills.

These are non-exhaustive examples of research and teaching areas that the assistant professor may cover:

    • International Business Strategy
    • MNEs and their organization
    • Foreign Direct Investment, trade, internationalization theory
    • Role of MNEs in addressing geopolitical and/or digital challenges

The department focuses on two principal areas of research: 'Business and Government' and 'International Business' in relation to societal challenges. Business and Government is rooted in the disciplines of political science and political economy. International Business includes the disciplines of international economics and international management. EGB is uniquely positioned to generate research in the intersection of these two focus areas.

International management and international economics research at the department focuses on the strategic and economic side of international business, with an emphasis on the multinational enterprise (MNE). Faculty combines an emphasis on methodological excellence with a drive for empirical impact and relevance and a keen sensitivity to the broader societal contexts in which MNE activity is rooted. International Business research in the department is informed by a range of theoretical and methodological traditions from international economics and international management.

While societal challenges are inherently changing and dynamic, at present, research at the department resonates with two challenges in particular: (1) Geopolitical challenges; (2) Technological change and digital transformation, with an emphasis on AI. In a broader sense, we address societal challenges such as corruption, regulations, international conflicts and tensions, migration, populism, and ethical and unethical behavior of MNEs.

Candidates who are available for a physical interview during the 2026 AIB meeting, 1-3  July, should send an expression of interest, following the guideline: https://www.aib.world/position/copenhagen-business-school-cbs/

There is no requirement for reference letters. The deadline for submitting an expression of interest is June 25, 2026.

Starting date: Flexible, at the latest September 2027.

For further information about the department, please visit the EGB website or contact the Head of Department, Jens Gammelgaard (jg.egb@cbs.dk). Informal job talks will be carried out by Jens Gammelgaard and relevant colleague(s).
