Dear colleagues,
Industry and Innovation wishes you a prosperous new year!
We are happy to kick-off 2024 with a celebratory Special Issue on "Grand Innovation Challenges". This Special Issue marks our transition into the roles of Co-Editors-in-Chief of Industry and Innovation and celebrates the 30th anniversary of the journal.
The Special Issue opens with an Editorial outlining the new focus themes of Industry and Innovation and includes five original articles, each of them spanning one or more grand innovation challenges. These articles provide novel reflections and outline opportunities for future research on innovation for the green transition, innovation in the digital era, and the intersection between innovation, corporate responsibility, and social value creation.
With this celebratory Special Issue, Industry and Innovation invites the scholarly community to add a new layer to the "quest for cool" initiated by the former Editorial Board, by also embracing a "quest for good". We look for interesting and novel research that can shed new light on some of the pressing transformations of our time, studies that are both progressive and socially relevant. The articles in this Special Issue can be viewed as lighthouses able to inspire and guide future research efforts in that direction.
We hope you will enjoy the reading!
Kind regards,
Alessandra Perri and Vera Rocha,
