    *** With apologies for cross-postings ***

    Dear colleagues,

Consider joining us for a PDW aimed at Early Career International Scholars.

The session is organized by the HR Division's Ambassadors Program that is striving to increase the engagement of AOM members outside North America not only with the HR Division but with AOM as a whole. We would love to see participation from other Divisions with the aim to learn from each other with the common goal of increasing international AOM member engagement, particularly for those in their early career stages.

International Early Career Scholars: How to Engage with the HR Division

    Date: Friday, August 5
    Time: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
Session 154 in the AOM program

The PDW is aimed to establish short and long-term mechanisms to increase engagement and support of international students and early-career faculty within the HR Division. Attendees can expect to discuss – and volunteer to take part in – potential solutions to challenges faced by international early career scholars, learn about opportunities for international members to become more involved in the HR Division and the AOM, and discuss "what's in it for early-career scholars" to be active members of the HR Division (in terms of available activities and resources.)

Designed as a forum for discussing how to create meaningful experiences and lasting relationships, this PDW will be structured in four parts: (1) sharing the vision and goals of the HR Division International Committee, (2) generating actionable solutions to support international early-career scholars and creating teams to further develop these plans, (3) learning from a panel of international guest speakers who will share their advice and experiences, (4) introducing the Junior Ambassadors group – the new delegates within the HR Division's Ambassadors program – and think of ways to leverage this program.

The session is currently scheduled as in-person only, but there may be virtual participation (upon availability of AV equipment. Registrants are also asked to mention if they wish to participate remotely.

To register, please send an e-mail to Vanessa Shum at: vanessa_shum@sfu.ca. Please include your CV (with your name, name of institution, and location), number of years in the PhD program or post-graduation, and three research topics/areas you are interested in. Please register by July 22. We look forward to having you with us in this workshop!
