Join our Professional Development Workshop (PDW) on Asian American Leadership, Coaching, and Career Development at AOM 2026! Asian American leaders often face distinctive barriers to advancement, sometimes called the "bamboo ceiling", shaped by cultural stereotypes, leadership prototype mismatches, and limited access to sponsorship.
This PDW brings together senior researchers and experienced executive coaches for a moderated panel discussion that integrates research, coaching practice, and lived experience. Following introductions and framing, attendees will participate in interactive roundtables led by panelists and organizers, including a coaching activity focused on mapping cultural tensions in leadership and small-group discussions designed to co-create practical, culturally responsive strategies for leadership and career development. The session will conclude with a reflective debrief and a large-group discussion of key takeaways. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
