The IM Division is proud to host its plenary session, The Future of International Management: Conversations with Professional Award Winners, on Monday, August 3, 3:30 pm at Sheraton Liberty Ballroom D. The session features a conversation with our 2026 Professional Award winners: S. Tamer Cavusgil (Georgia State University), Alain Verbeke (University of Calgary), Paula Caligiuri (Northeastern University) and Daniel Andrews (Florida Atlantic University). Each of these distinguished scholars brings a unique lens to international management, grounded in influential research and educational leadership.
Together, they offer complementary perspectives across the individual, organizational, interorganizational, and institutional levels of analysis that define much of IM scholarship.
Drawing from the themes most prominent in this year's conference submissions, the session will center on the salient issues shaping the field today: geopolitical tensions, digitalization, and CSR/sustainability.
The discussion will explore what these scholars see as the most promising opportunities for future research, emerging directions in IM education, and the key challenges that lie ahead for scholars and practitioners alike. This is a rare opportunity to engage with the field's foremost thinkers in an open, forward-looking dialog.
