    An exciting presenter symposium is coming your way, featuring 4 strong papers, 4 fantastic scholars, and 1 incredible discussant. We will examine the implications of location for platform strategy and the implications of platform strategy for economic agents and members of the society in a particular locale. Some of the questions we explore: 1) what features of platform business models and platform strategies may create negative externalities to local stakeholders; 2) how platform governance practices are received and responded to in non-Western contexts; and, 3) what roles complementors embedded in a local institution may play in shaping regulatory environments or legitimizing a foreign platform. The symposium is sponsored by IM, STR, and TIM divisions.
